Texas Roast

We provide this free seniors' recipe to visitors of the Community Room of SeniorSSuperStoreS in an effort to keep baby boomers, seniors and the elderly informed of matters that can enhance their lifestyle.

A delightfully tasty recipe that makes a great spring cookout!

Ingredients:

5 to 7 lb sirloin roast.

4 cloves garlic, slivered

1/2 cup salad oil

1 tsp cayenne pepper

1 tsp paprika

1 cup tomato sauce

1 tsp chili powder

1 cup chili sauce

1 tsp oregano

1 tbsp black pepper

Directions:

With sharp knife, cut tiny pockets in the roast and insert the slivers of garlic

Combine the oil, cayenne pepper and paprika and rub into roast

Mix tomato sauce, chili sauce and chili powder, oregano and black pepper

Baste every 30 minutes with the mixture.

Roast for 3 to 3 1/2 hours on covered grill.
